Malik on Zhores: Malik is still unsure about how to feel about Zhores! ARE YOU WITH ME OR AGAINST ME? Or are you just an opportunist and will take advantage of any opportunity he sees? In any case, Malik will be keeping a close eye on Zhores and will also be a bit of an opportunist and use Zhores to help understand anything and everything that he needs and wants to know. Teach me how to troll Shaun, Zhores.

Malik on Shaun: OKAY, so he feels a bit bad for the "worse than a novice" remark, but he was angry at Shaun for what he did and is doing with Cesare. SHAUN IS... really not the best first impression he can get of the modern day crew, and his expectations for the rest are kinda low. And Malik does feel some sort of happiness at training Shaun in the arts of free-running, even if Shaun's athletic capabilities suck balls. Remember, Malik is only killing you with exercise because he cares Shaun, truly. And yes he does get frustrated at Shaun's lack of skills, BUT YOU WILL JUMP ROOFTOPS YET!!

RIGHT, so Malik is giving Shaun credit for coming out and admitting fault for the whole "Cesare-gate" fiasco as I am now going to refer to it in this essay. Malik can heavily respect when someone admits guilt, since that takes more courage then just running away or not admitting fault. However, no matter how much fault Shaun admits to, Malik is still mad at Shaun. Shaun acted stupidly. He knows far too much about them both (them being Malik and Cesare), and if he is as knowledgeable as he says he is, then he should know better than to do too much with them, or else blah blah time stream and continuum and HOLY TIME PARADOX, DESMOND. (hush it's two).

But the fact of the matter is that Shaun pretty much almost compromised the Order, A MAJOR NO NO. No cookie for Shaun. There was so much Shaun could have said that Malik wonders why he stayed and continued to speak with Cesare. Are you really that big of an idiot? This is why you're an NPC, you don't know how to run away when the Notoriety Sensor is saying "YOU ARE FUCKING EXPOSED, ASSASSIN. RUN AND HIDE OR GET KILLED BY GUARDS."

And Shaun just had to make matters worse in the network post. And well. Shaun is in for pain for the next several days to weeks. It all depends on how fast Shaun learns from this whole experience. There is... a small parallel with Altaïr in this regard. Making a mistake, making it worse, and worse, before it gets better. I will laugh if after Cesare-gate, Malik and Shaun start getting along like bros... Which will be so much fun, we can gang up on our respective derpsassins when they get in camp.

OVERALL: Why can't you be like Ezio and just stalk Cesare, like a good Assassin?

Malik is pretty neutral on Cesare, relatively speaking. He doesn't have the same bad experiences that Ezio and Shaun have of him, obviously, so he's more willing to get to know Cesare free from that bias. If anything, this whole "Cesare-gate" thing might make him more willing to at least be on good terms with Cesare, if anything, to make sure that Shaun plays nice.

Yeah SOMEONE SHOULD'VE GIVEN HIM A PRIMER ON TRUTH EFFECTS. Since some of it was forced out of him by the post and some of it was him going for a smaller secret over holding it all back and blurting out something that would absolutely wreck the order. If he'd kept trying to escape it would have been a better plan, but. Cesare and Shaun are marvelous at getting on each other's last nerve.

In general things are getting interesting between him and Cesare, since the aforementioned reasons and the fact that Shaun doesn't know how to leave history alone (especially when he knows that Cesare's original time-line is borked because... well camp). HOWEVER, it's getting more personal than brotherhood-oriented so really the risk is more likely to be on him then something greater. There could be an entire essay about Shaun and privacy and how that's become a interesting point with previously-only historical figures, but it's 12:30am and no.

And yeah, Shaun's going to react to bruised pride that way, which is pretty damn dumb, but in every case save a few with Lucy, he's gone ahead to make the comment or do the dick thing anyway. He's... learning after the truth post about what that can do, but it's not going to happen overnight. On the other hand he's not upset that Malik's taking control of the pr deal, because Malik's doing the best thing for the brotherhood, and he sees that. He's damn fond of Malik, even with being a dick to him and vice versa. And dude, he'd be up for ganging up on derpassassins any day

(even if, yanno, he'd probably go with Altair's decision on a matter over Malik's unless it was amazingly stupid. Sorry, it's a Grand Master thing.)

OVERALL: Someone needs to yank Shaun back when History is involved.

Malik's never been in a truth post, so :'D. In any case, should Malik ever find out that whatever is happening between Cesare and Shaun is starting to become more personal and less brotherhood, Malik will definitely do something about it. What exactly, I am not sure yet. If it involves getting Ema to put a restraining order on Shaun for Cesare, he'll do it. If he has to do to Shaun what Turkey will do to Zhores if he finds out that he's died again, he'll do it. If he basically has to stalk Shaun and toss a knife in front of him to stop him from moving towards Cesare, he'll do it.

But... the fact of the matter is, Malik would have no problems if Shaun decided to be friends with Cesare, so long as they agreed that what happens in the Brotherhood, stays in the Brotherhood. As for the bruised pride thing, Shaun should take a leaf from Malik's book and find other ways to channel it, such has being a helpful dick.

(and yeah, same with Malik, but that doesn't mean that he won't argue with Altaïr about it, old habits die hard)

Cesare does not trust Malik. He likes him more than he likes Shaun, but that's not saying a whole hell of a lot since they only interacted twice, briefly, and Malik was very polite on both occasions. He appreciated his attitude but also senses that Malik is the more dangerous of the two and is very wary. Not quite as much as he was around Ezio, but. You know.

He is enjoying trolling Shaun in the network post but didn't talk to Malik in it for a reason. :|
