[ In the assassin bureaubarn, there are two assassins who are currently lying together on a grouping of pillows. They are ignoring the welts that are growing on their wrists and necks in favor of each other. ]

The only rule he told me I had to worry about was that sex was banned.

Whichever of those is the biggest threat.

In my opinion that's split between the network and the events here in camp, everything else is just annoying.

The network is essentially a communication system that we, the campers can access and post to, it's also how we keep track of anything that's going on beyond the barrier in this world. The nasty side is that also it records everything that we do, but there's a catch, after a certain amount of time the information starts to degrade, and the history of camp itself is really best explained as a combination of this and an oral history. Another odd thing about it is that some personal communication gets shared, but from the mass volume of what I've seen on here, you're relatively sure that you can say most things in private and it won't get picked up... that is, unless camp thinks it's funny. Don't worry, it's got a childish sense of humor... most of the time.

The events are a different matter, October and sometimes November are hellish, but once a year this place really pulls out all the stops. This year it turns out we have some sort of elder god waiting for us just outside the thin little walls of this barrier, and in a few months, it'll get in.

It gave warning of its arrival? Did it also say how we might defeat it?

Did you say something about the food?

On Tuesdays they serve us a soup filled with lovely bits of humanity, hopefully the zombies. Anything people try to make turns into it, and sometimes even the coffee will end up the same. Camp-enforced fasting, if you will, at least if you're not one of the cannibals.

I need to learn not to ask.

Trust me, asking is better here, then you learn the boundaries before this place teaches you them itself.

I was under the impression that there was really only one rule I had to worry about.

Oh there's one rule, just quite a few bans, and in our case, one person who's been steadily been taking us out for sport.

...

I'm going to have such a talk with him.

Okay so, there's this fella named Vino, or Claire, or The Rail Tracer, who's hunted us all down a few times, each little adventure ending with our bloody, gruesome death. In a way he's like looking at our creed through a mirror darkly, he believes in getting rid of the bad sorts, but he's got none of the temperance.
